Cokie Roberts And America's Founding Mothers

WFAE

Tuesday, July 4, 2017

On this Independence Day, we revisit a 2014 conversation with NPR's Cokie Roberts, one of public radio's founding mothers, about the women behind America's Founding Fathers.

This interview originally aired October 17, 2014

Most of us have heard about the Founding Fathers since we were little children. They are woven into the fabric of American society and, despite the fact that many cannot name their congressman, people can identify the Founding Fathers. Well, what about the Founding Mothers? NPR's Cokie Roberts wants us to remember them and their amazing accomplishments, from Abigail Adams to the lesser known women in the nation's early days.

GUEST

Cokie Roberts - veteran journalist, political commentator for NPR and ABC News
