Anson County is again without a permanent elections director after interim director Gerald Poplin said a medical condition prevents him from continuing. The State Board of Elections is also considering complaints involving a member of the county elections board.

Water service is slowly being restored across Anson County after a major water main break on Tuesday left hundreds of homes and businesses without water.

State elections officials said they’re taking another look at allegations that a campaign worker in Anson County broke the rules of voter assistance and walked into the polling site at the elections office, assisting some voters with their ballots.
