COLUMBIA, S.C.  — He’s not competing in a primary in the state, but President Donald Trump is planning to make an appearance in South Carolina just before Democrats hold their primary election there.

New Hampshire is casting its vote in the Democratic presidential primary today, and in less than three weeks — Feb. 29 — all eyes will turn toward South Carolina. It’s a crucial vote, since it’ll be the first primary in the South and the first in which a majority of voters are expected to be African American.

President Donald Trump will deliver the keynote address at a criminal justice reform forum in Columbia, South Carolina, next Friday, a White House official confirmed.

Keith Lawrence Ross, 30, was found fatally shot in a home in north Charlotte in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to the home on the 2900 block of Botany Street at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday. Upon arriving, officers found Ross inside with a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.
