Mecklenburg County Commissioners pass budget

The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners adopted the budget for fiscal year 2026-2027 last night.

It totals $2.6 billion - an increase of just over $50 million, or 2% over the current operating budget. The Mecklenburg County property tax rate remains at its current level of 49.27 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The new budget will take effect July 1st
