The world’s preeminent guitar duo, Brazilian-born brothers Sérgio and Odair Assad celebrate 60 years of setting the standard for innovation, ingenuity, and expression with the classical guitar.
Their near telepathic ensemble playing and deep musicality led to celebrated performances with artists like Yo-Yo Ma, Dave Brubeck, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, James Taylor, Dawn Upshaw, and others. Their programs embrace a myriad of musical styles, periods, and cultures including folk, jazz, Latin, and transcriptions of the greatest works from the Baroque music canon by Bach, Rameau, and Scarlatti. Winners of Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY awards, the Guitar Foundation of America awarded these brothers with its Lifetime Achievement Award.
