Electoral Dysfunction

ElectoralDysfuntion.org

Soon millions of Americans will go to the polls to vote for a new president.  The journey to a polling booth in our country is complex. In fact, America shares a distinction with only a handful of nations like Iran and Lybia in that our constitution does not explicitly include the right to vote. And that's just one of the astonishing facts in Victoria Bassetti’'s new book, Electoral Dysfunction. You'll learn how our country has 13,000 different voting districts, each with it’s own policies and we rank near the bottom in number of registered voters. Bassetti wrote the book with NPR humorist Mo Rocca who also stars in a documentary about this topic. Bassetti and Rocca join us for the hour.

Guests:

Victoria Bassetti - Author, Electoral Dysfunction
Mo Rocca - Correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning and panelist on Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!
