Charlotte's MLS team says it will announce its name and colors next week. On Monday, the club owned by Carolina Panthers' owner David Tepper tweeted out the list of possible names that came out in December. One name was crossed out: Charlotte Fortune.
"Little help with eliminating," said the tweet, which included a winking emoji.
Still on the list are Gliders, Monarchs, Crown, Charlotte FC, Charlotte Athletic, Charlotte Town and All Carolina. All were among the registrations Tepper Sports and Entertainment filed in December with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Charlotte MLS says it will announce the name next Wednesday, July 22.
