A news release from the Greensboro Police Department says 29-year-old Malek Anthony Moore was arrested without incident on a street in Greensboro after a call from a resident. Moore was wanted for first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Christian Mbimba of Nashville, Tennessee, on Sept. 3 in Greensboro. Police officers found Mbimba's body in the street. Moore also was wanted for first-degree murder in connection with a death in Charlotte on Monday.

Huntersville Police are investigating what they say is a triple homicide and suicide. They say it happened late Monday or early Tuesday, in a neighborhood of trailer homes off Old Statesville Road/N.C. 115, south of downtown. But the investigation, and discovery of victims, spread out over three days.

Police say two people were killed in separate homicides reported over the Memorial Day weekend in Charlotte.

Last year, Charlotte nearly hit its record high in homicides with 123 in a single year. The majority of victims were Black, and more than half under the age of 30. This prompted the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte to repeat its antiviolence billboard campaign, with 34 billboards erected citywide.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested two Union County men Friday in the shooting deaths of two transgender women in the Charlotte area in the span of 11 days. Police said they are considering hate crime charges.
