2019 Homicides

2019 was Charlotte's deadliest year since 1993. There were 107 homicides reported plus 12 cases considered by police and prosecutors to be justified homicides, according to CMPD.

Charlotte added two more victims to its homicide total in 24 hours this weekend. Police say a 56-year-old man was intentionally struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in a Steele Creek shopping center and a 43-year-old man was shot during an argument Saturday morning in Ballantyne.

A woman was shot and killed early this morning at a party in a business park in north Charlotte. She’s been identified as 27-year-old Ebony Tamia Harrison. Police have charged 23-year-old Corey Lamar Vega with her murder.

Police say a man who was shot Oct. 21 in Charlotte has died and they've charged his alleged assailant with murder.

Police charged a man with murder nearly a month after he allegedly drove a car onto Interstate 85 in Charlotte with another man clinging to the car's door. Willie Nathaniel Corry Jr. was killed Oct. 4 after he fell from the car onto the highway.
