Starting as a happy accident of solo singer/songwriters getting together for a one-time-only performance at a tiny guitar shop in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the Wailin’ Jennys have grown into one of today’s most beloved international folk acts.

Founding members Moody and Mehta along with New York-based Masse continue to create some of the most exciting music on the folk-roots scene, stepping up their musical game with each critically lauded recording, and thrilling audiences with their renowned live performances. The spine-tingling gothic horror story The Woman in Black is coming to the Hickory Community Theatre. Performances will be October 17 through November 1 in the Jeffers Theatre.

It is probably safe to assume that there are no other musical duos who represent a synthesis of Old-time Music and Klezmer favorites - “klezgrass.” Natalya Zoe Weinstein comes from a long line of klezmer and jazz musicians, and John Cloyd Miller, the grandson of bluegrass fiddling legend Jim Shumate, comes from bluegrass royalty. They are a Davidson favorite, having first performed at a Traditional music concert in 2017, and more recently appearing as our Music Department guest artists for the 2021 Holiday Gala.
