Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead Thursday morning outside an apartment in north Charlotte.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Police say they were called to Oakwinds Court, just off Old Statesville Road, at 8:42 a.m., for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. The woman was found dead in a vehicle.
Her name has not been released. Police have not said if they have a suspect.
It would be the 60th homicide of 2019 in Charlotte, more than the 58 in all of last year.
