There have been two homicides in west Charlotte since Wednesday afternoon.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says officers responding to a call just before 4 a.m. Thursday found a male victim with a gunshot wound in a 7-Eleven on Brookshire Boulevard near Lawton Road. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His identity has not been released.

The department says Wednesday, just before 5 p.m., officers found 34-year-old Antonio Kirkpatrick shot to death outside a shopping center on West Boulevard near the intersection of Remount.

No arrests have been reported in either shooting.

Both investigations are in their early stages, and police ask anyone with information on the cases to call 704-432-TIPS.
