Analysis Of Appeals Court Putting Some NC Voting Changes On Hold

A panel of federal appeals court judges has ordered parts of North Carolina’s voting law changes passed by Republican lawmakers last year, be put on hold for this November’s elections.  The judges, in a 2 to 1 ruling, said implementing the changes this November would cause irreparable harm to African-American voters.

Joining Morning Edition host Marshall Terry for his perspective on this decision is Catawba College political science professor, Michael Bitzer.

Marshall came to WFAE after graduating from Appalachian State University, where he worked at the campus radio station and earned a degree in communication. Outside of radio, he loves listening to music and going to see bands - preferably in small, dingy clubs.
