At a news conference Tuesday morning at Bank of America Stadium, the Carolina Panthers and concert promoter Live Nation announced that singer Billy Joel will be coming to uptown.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is scheduled to perform at the stadium April 18, 2020. The Charlotte Observer reports the show will mark the first concert there in almost eight years.

Panthers President Tom Glick said the team has been trying to add more events at the stadium and that hosting live music has been "high on our list."

"We're back in the concert business at Bank of America stadium," Glick said. "We're going to begin this era with one of music's biggest acts."

Other concerts at the stadium have included Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw and the Rolling Stones.

Joel's career has included many major hits, including "Piano Man," "Uptown Girl" and "We Didn't Start The Fire."
