Police say Nathaniel Raul Newberry, 31, was killed Friday afternoon in front of a home on Azalea Hills Drive.
CMPD received a call for service at 3:53 p.m. When they arrived at the address, they found Newberry in front of the residence suffering with a gunshot wound. He was transferred to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Tyquis Syjuan Jenkins, 28, has been charged with murder in Newberry's death. Jenkins was at the scene when police arrived. He was taken to CMPD headquarters and questioned by detectives. After questioning, Jenkins was arrested.
Newberry and Jenkins knew each other before this incident.
