The journey begins in a wraparound immersive theater, then expands into five themed galleries featuring dozens of interactive stations.

Celebrate youth creativity at Charlotte Center for the Arts' inaugural Youth Arts Festival on Friday, March 21st from 1:00-5:00 PM at Stumptown Park in Matthews! This free, family-friendly event features live performances by talented young artists, interactive art-making activities, gallery exhibitions of student artwork and more! Enjoy diverse performances including music, dance, and theater, plus hands-on art stations for all ages led by professional teaching artists. Adapted from Kahlil Joseph's renowned video art installation, BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions is a distinctive cinematic experience that mirrors the sonic textures of a record album, weaving fiction and history in an immersive journey where the fictionalized figures of W.E.B. Du Bois and Marcus Garvey join artists, musicians, Joseph's family, and even Twitter chats, in a vision for black consciousness.
Join us Saturday, March 21, following the afternoon screening for a post-film discussion with panelists Brianna Daniels, Dasia Hood, Nigel Malone, and Sam Hoggs.
