The Chalrotte Hornets is an NBA team. The Hornets are part of the NBA's Eastern Conference Southeast Division. Basketball legend Michael Jordan is the primary owner, and the team plays at Spectrum Center in uptown. The original Charlotte Hornets started in 1988 under George Shinn but moved to New Orleans in 2002. Then, in 2004, Charlotte was awarded a new NBA expansion team — the Bobcats. But in 2013, the New Orleans team renamed itself the Pelicans, and, starting in 2014, Charlotte scrapped the Bobcats name to once again become the Hornets.
