Potters Market at the Mint 2026
Celebrate two decades of artistry, community, and craftsmanship at the 20th Anniversary Potters Market at the Mint. This juried event brings together 55 of North Carolina’s most highly regarded potters alongside collectors and ceramic enthusiasts from across the region. The event includes an artist talk with renowned Pueblo ceramic artist Virgil Ortiz at 1 PM. Plus, live pottery demonstrations, bluegrass music, a beer garden and café, and blind-bidding auction throughout the day. For this milestone year, Potters Market at the Mint is a proud participant in Handwork 2026, Craft in America’s year-long semiquincentennial collaboration among organizations, educators and makers to showcase the importance of the handmade and celebrates the diversity of the crafts that define America.

Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina Family Festival & Walk for Bleeding Disorders
It's time to celebrate the 12th Annual Charlotte Family Festival & Walk for Bleeding Disorders! As part of our largest fundraiser, the Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina (BDFNC) is raising $65,0000 for the bleeding disorders community. One-hundred percent of all the money raised goes directly back to support people affected by bleeding disorders in North Carolina through: financial assistance, medical IDs, scholarships, travel grants, educational programs, support groups, camps for children with bleeding disorders, and support to research for better treatments and cures for bleeding disorders. The Family Festival & Walk includes a walk on a beautiful greenway in Pineville Lake Park and a festival component including live entertainment, food and drinks, games and more.
Llama Trek
Take a woodland hike on The Schiele Museum's Nature Trail with a llama or alpaca friend. An experienced handler will accompany your group on a 1/2-mile walk as you learn about the habits of alpacas and llamas and their special partnerships with people.
This experience includes photo opportunities and hands-on interaction. Maximum 4 hikers per 30-minute session. Advance tickets are required.
Fire & Ice Science Show
Experience the extremes of science this summer during an interactive science show for all ages! Watch as hot and cold collide in thrilling demonstrations featuring temperature, reactions, and surprising transformations. Fire & Ice is a COOL way to beat the HEAT! Shows presented on Friday, June 26, and Saturday, July 25 at 1 PM & 2 PM. $3 with the purchase of museum admission

Petal to the Medal Endurance Event
This endurance-based run is designed for both seasoned trail runners and those new to the world of ultras, offering an inclusive space to push limits, build community, and experience the beauty of trail running - without the intimidation factor.
Participants will have up to eight hours to complete as many loops as they choose on a 5K trail course at Daniel Stowe Conservancy. Where someone wants to walk a single loop, test themselves for a few hours, or push into ultra territory, this event is about personal challenge and shared experiences rather than speed or competition.
